No trespassing: and other real estate disputes

You finally moved into your dream house in Florida. Everything was going just fine, until you found yourself smack dab in the middle of a contentious real estate dispute. Whether your fight is with your neighbor, a local governing body or a commercial realtor, it's understandable that you want to find the best means to resolve the matter in as quick and economically feasible a fashion as possible.

Did distracted driving cause your accident?

Distracted driving is a continuing problem in Florida and across the country, and this behavior is the cause of hundreds or thousands of accidents every year. The decision to use a phone or engage in distracting behaviors while behind the wheel is inexcusable, and these drivers are accountable for the injuries and harm caused to others.

The do's and don'ts of entering into a contractual agreement

Contracts are legally binding agreements between two or more parties that are enforceable by the law. Some business contracts might be simple enough such as a purchase order or a verbal agreement while others may be more complicated, involving much higher stakes. Entering into a contractual agreement with another party is serious business, and you must never rush yourself into signing a business contract no matter how trustworthy the other party may seem.

When is eviction illegal?

Although some landlords rent on an oral agreement, you will usually sign some sort of written agreement when renting out a home, outlining payment and the rules of the property. A landlord can evict, or remove, a tenant from the property if any part of the agreement is broken. However, they must give you proper warning before evicting you. Here are the conditions for legal eviction and the process your landlord must follow if they wish to evict you from the property.

Types of intellectual property rights

Intellectual property refers to intangible assets that are the creation of the human mind such as inventions, literary or artistic works. These assets are protected by law, giving exclusive rights to the owner. Common types of intellectual property rights which you can use to protect your business and creations include copyrights, trademarks and patents.
